Sealing Stamped Concrete: The Right Way (Without Peeling)

Stamped concrete looks beautiful — until the wrong sealer turns it cloudy, yellow or peeling. Here's how to seal stamped concrete the right way so it stays sharp and protected for years.

Why most stamped concrete sealers fail

The classic glossy "wet look" sealer is acrylic. UV breaks it down, moisture gets trapped underneath, and within 1–2 years you get a milky white haze, peeling or fish-eye spots.

    The penetrating alternative

A penetrating stamped concrete sealer like Nanoprotect absorbs into the surface instead of forming a film. No peeling, no hazing — and it still significantly reduces water and stain absorption.

Trade-off: you lose the artificial glossy "wet look". You keep the natural color and texture of your stamp pattern, with long-term protection.

Sealing stamped concrete with a pump sprayer

    Step-by-step

    1. Pressure wash. Remove any old peeling sealer (chemical stripper if needed).
    2. Let the concrete dry fully — at least 24 hours of dry weather.
    3. Spray Nanoprotect with a pump sprayer until saturated.
    4. Apply a second coat wet-on-wet for maximum penetration.
    5. Cure 24 hours before traffic.
